A while ago I subscribed to rusty quill’s patreon for one month so I could get access to the extra bloopers (which are amazing and definitely worth it) and the deluxe transcripts and I’d definitely recommend it. I know they’re not canon, but they’re great. You’ll get such treats as:

• Jon being a tired millennial

• Jon shitting on the police

• Just general Jon snark

• Jon’s degree is in literature (unqualified king)

• Some really sad comments on the leitner statements

• Being subconsciously compelled to cross out this line “grant us the sight that we may not know. Grant us the scent that we may not catch. Grant us the sound that we may not call” from the statement in page turner

• Jon defending the anatomy students

• Statement giver says they almost threw up and Jon comments “a common response to fanfiction” like excuse me?! Sir?? What do you have against fanfiction??

• “Ah, mums. I assume” wtf Jon?! Why are you trauma dumping in your notes?!

• After Sasha talks about how she met up with Michael and kept investigating: “really need a staff training seminar on when to RUN AWAY” Jon I love you

Even in his last moments before getting pulled into another realm, even in a game where he isn't the protagonist, Link is showing off exactly why he's the god damn chosen hero.

no because i'm actually going insane. like, in retrospect, it makes so much sense that ed and stede would both be glassy-eyed/crying after their first kiss, because they're both feeling so much. it's so new to them and subsequently so scary but so exciting. it has them both feeling so vulnerable but so intrigued by all the implications and future possibilities.

and then like, ed is feeling the most free and the most like himself that he has for years and years, if not his entire life. the world is his oyster in that moment. the horizon is open and endless. there's nothing but forever and his newfound love at his side. it's so much. it has him so vulnerable. it's something he thought he'd never get to have. and yet there it is, right beneath his hands, right there on the sand next to him. no more masking. no more threats of violence. no more having to hide himself away. just love.

and then stede. he's absolutely petrified that he's ruined ed, that he'd messed up horrendously like he think he has for the entirety of his life. but then he's also just experienced something that he thought he'd never get to have either. he never thought he'd get to feel actual love. he never thought his prospect of "marrying for love" could actually be something tangible. he never thought someone would look him in the eyes and say "you make me happy." and yet there all of that is, right there on the sand next to him.

so of course they're both crying. of course. they're running through the full spectrum of emotion and right back around again.

but also. WHAT.

So i've been playing through Hades 2 recently and, unless i'm just going insane, I'm fairly sure that in the later game (or in Hades 3) that we're going to fight against the gods in some capacity?

We have Nemesis, saying that the gods might deserve all of this happening to them, and that Prometheus didn't deserve his punishment; We have Moros talking about how he has ended the lives of mortals in interesting ways for entertainment; We have Heracles, who freed Prometheus, and who has been very screwed over by the gods in the past; In the previous game we had Sisyphus, happy; We have Arachne, whose story (and the amount she deserved her punishment) varies but still got fucked over; (Pan)Dora, where the last remaining item in her jar (box) was hope, sometimes seen too as a curse, the gods giving meaningless mortals hope in their lives; We have Athena talking about how compromise is failure and will only start more conflict; other olympians talking about flooding the earth or punishing mortals for siding with Chronos;

and finally, we have Prometheus, who is the most interesting character in the entire game;

Prometheus, the titan, is best known for three things:

He created the first humans out of clay (sometimes Hephaestus is credited with this)

He stole fire from the gods and gave it to mankind (which is why he is often considered the god of fire)

Liver. Bird. Liver. Bird. Liver. Bird [...]

Prometheus in Hades 2 is the god (titans and gods are virtually the same don't worry about it) of Foresight (due to his name being typically understood as to mean "Foresight" in contrast to his brother's meaning "Hindsight" or "Afterthought"), freed from the mountain by someone and who now fights against Olympus. Note that it was Heracles who freed him in the legends, and Heracles is a character who appears in game.

Prometheus clearly cares for humanity over all else, being their creator, and thus the source of their suffering.

The most interesting lines from Prometheus in the game are those regarding the future, after all he is the titan of foresight, specifically to do with mortals and the gods. Most notably, the recurring line:

Agent of Change.

Come then, Agent of Change, and show me what I know you can do!"

If you could see what i've forseen, you'd not believe it anyhow

All... according... to plan...

Prometheus :  "I could only... do my part..." [Melinoë : "Silence. Save your troubles for your master Chronos."] "It's not my troubles that I mean to save... Agent of Change..."

If suffering today brings a better tomorrow, so be it

and the most important line, the one that explains his persistence (in my eyes):

Gods could learn something from mortals, you know. For all their many failings, they have an admirable tendency to cling to hope; a certain quality we deathless often lack [Melinoë: Hope can be the salve for the naive. So many mortals hope they'll never die; a feeling born of delusion and fear] Yes! Mortals live short, painful lives. And even still they strive for something greater than they mostly can achieve. I fight for them! You gods only fight for yourselves

While there is all likelihood that my own foresight is flawed in this regard; all of this being simply a reference to the last curse of hope that remains in Pandora's Jar, I choose to see it that this is what Prometheus has learned through his years:

He fights for mortals, he suffers and dies as they do time and time again to strive for what is greater than himself, he clings to the hope that Melinoë will finally break this cycle and free humanity.

I've had the urge to do something for the Ninjago Movie, specifically a crossover with the show. Since I drew them in comparison to one another twice before I wanted to do it again before I even start writing anything. I posted something about it here.

And because I wanted to, movie designs for Pixal, Echo and Morro. Here some ideas:

Morro is Lloyds older cousin and just left to go to college. He used to train the ninja from time to time being one himself. Before the SNF took over he and Wu handled Garmadon a lot. And because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add Sandstorm. Morro and Cole are pinning. He has trained the SNF a few times when Wu was away. He also punched a lot of Lloyds bullies growing up.

Pixal is a normal student at Ninjago High. She’s still a Nindroid but juts blends in. Much like Pixal in the Show she isn’t a part of the team yet. Eventually she becomes the movies first and only Samurai X. Before the events of the movie happen, Pixal is one of the few students not bullying the ninja. She isn't really their friend but she treats them like every other person. She only gets really involved after the movie when she has a project with Nya and she slowly joins their group.

Echo is the second nindroid Dr Julien built, like in canon, but he also intended to be much younger. He’s a normal kid and won’t go through the trauma of being abandoned and turned into Mr E like in the show. Also, less biker vibes when he get older. He's a happy and very energetic child. He loves his big brother a lot.

And a little fun fact/headcanon you may have noticed. The show ninja all wear different shoes while the movie cast has the same ones. Up until season 7 the show ninja also wore the same ones per Wus request and him getting them the gear. In the timeskip between season 7 and 8, they get their own shoes. Ones they feel most comfortable in. Once Wu is back to normal he doesn’t force them to wear the same shoes. They are good enough ninja not to decide on their own. Event he movie ninja are older, they’ll also begin to wear different shoes.
